When she takes the stage there's a change in the air as if something explosive
is about to happen...and then comes that VOICE!
You will be moved immediately and you will be MOVING! When she sings the blues
you know it's genuine, you know she's been there. Alexis has already toured
nationally and internationally, including radio and television performances. She
has performed with some of the biggest names in blues!
“It's a rare thing to share the stage with great talent like that young lady!” -
B.B. King
"A legend in the making." - Rob Bartlett “Imus In The MorningShow”
The Music Box's John Metzger says "Shuga Fix", the magnificent debut release
from Alexis P. Suter, "very well may be the perfect remedy for everything that
currently ails contemporary R&B".
The Alexis P. Suter Band regularly perform live at the acclaimed Levon Helm
Midnight Ramble Sessions in Woodstock, NY.
This years festival performances included the Pocono Blues Fest, New York State
Blues Fest, Virginia Blues and Jazz Fest among several others.
This year's performances also included, The Beacon Theater, Bethel Woods Center
for the Arts and Central Park Summerstage. Alexis had the honor of opening up
for Mr. BB King himself at BB Kings NYC, and Etta James, also at BB Kings.
The Alexis P. Suter Band have just released a new CD/DVD, "Live at the Midnight
Ramble", on Levon Helm Studios Records.
Alexis' debut CD "Shuga Fix" with Hipbone Records is being widely received by
the music community and Triple A Radio nationwide.
ALEXIS P. SUTER PRESS QUOTES
Alexis P. Suter commands attention even before she begins to sing.
Opening for BB King in her first appearance at his New York City club, she
walked out in a bright orange tunic, lights flashing off her silver - tipped
cornrow braids as her band lay down an insinuating groove. She planted her feet,
grabbed
the microphone with both hands, threw back her head and spat out the lyrics to
"That You Can" in a velvet alto that seemed to rise from the soles of her feet.
Delivering the lament of a woman in bad love, she swayed and bounced in frantic
hopelessness as her voice glided from a provocative purr to a wounded roar. As
the song crashed to a close, she wiped sweat from her face as spectators
exchanged looks that asked, "Where has she been hiding?"
Blues Revue Magazine
“In recent years, only Macy Gray has possessed the same genuine, soul saving
star power as Suter, and not surprisingly, Shuga Fix offers a similarly
irresistible blend of poetic poignancy and modern day nostalgia. The
difference, however, is that Suter seems far more grounded in her endeavors and
thus provides a bit more hope that R&B will be saved from the emotionless
personalities that are currently being manufactured in the corporate board rooms
of the major labels”.
John Metzger, The Music Box
“Suter is as fascinating to watch as to hear, A stunning, ample woman with the
face of a cherubic African queen, her molasses contralto can whisper and purr,
then swell into a pulsating wave of sound that radiates from the
depths of her being”.
Kay Cordtz, Elmore Magazine
What a voice, and she uses it to highly emotive effect! Fierce and ferocious!
Lee Hildebrand, Living Blues Magazine
"She's got a voice that could bring down the tower of Babel. She may be the best
blues singer on the east coast. She's played the Midnight Rambles with Levon
Helm for over two years now, but she should be playing in palaces and
kingdoms to kings and queens. If there's any justice she'll soon be playing on
the
worlds biggest and nation's best to huge crowds of appreciative fans”.
Joe Vignola, LIBS
Whether singing about spiritual ecstasy or earthly troubles, her booming
contralto, seasoned with raw emotion and wide streak of attitude, make every
song she performs her own.
Kay Cordtz, Blues Revue
Remember the name Alexis P. Suter, because with her talent and voice she is on
her way to being a big star!
